Mentor it Forward

On Thursday, March 4th at Barnard College, Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg celebrated Women's History Month with the launch of Mentor it Forward. A joint partnership of the NYC Commission on Women's Issues and Barnard College, Mentor it Forward is a "speed mentoring" program created to provide college students access to executive level professional women who otherwise wouldn't have the time to participate in traditional mentorship programs requiring month or year-long commitments.

174 High School and College Students Graduate From NYC Ladders for Leaders
On Tuesday, August 11, 2009, Mayor Bloomberg served as Master of Ceremonies for a reception at Gracie Mansion honoring the 2009 graduates. Participants interned at partnering companies for a 7-week internship which was complemented by leadership workshops, free SAT and college preparatory courses, and a college scholarship. Four students were also selected to receive two pairs of round trip airline tickets to visit colleges of their choice through the NYC Ladders for Leaders American Airlines College Tour Competition.
