Foreclosure Prevention and Mitigation
HPD has developed
comprehensive homeowner- and neighborhood-targeted intervention strategies to
support vulnerable households and to keep people in their homes.
For homeowners at risk, our approach includes prevention, education,
counseling, outreach, and direct assistance for people residing within the
communities most affected by the crisis. For neighborhoods
already affected by foreclosures, HPD is working to mitigate the spillover
effects in surrounding properties by helping with the rehabilitation and resale
of distressed properties.
